Nightjars opens and more!

I tell you what, the more $$$ AIG gives away, the more I keep humming “I’m Changing My Name to Chrysler.” Why is it that folksingers can learn from history and financiers can’t?

Much to report today. First, if you’re in the Cincinnati area, it’s time to get your tickets to Nightjars, which is about to play the Y.E.S. Festival. Here is the link with festival dates, performance times, the whole bit. In general, the play runs in rep with two other plays from April 18 through the 26th. I’ll even be in attendance for the first two shows, the second of which will feature a talk-back after the performance, so if you want to hear me chime in or get peppered with questions, then Sunday, April 19 would be a jolly good time to do it.

Next, I am the “featured author” in the spring web edition of Strange, Weird and Wonderful, so do check out their page if you either want to read my new story, “Karen Addy’s Cat Flap,” or want to partake of that rare thing, me being interviewed as a practicing, working writer.

Both conditions apply, of course: Always working, always practicing.

Parenting-wise, fragility is the word of the day. Our boys, who mostly get along, suddenly seem incapable of admitting their fondness for each other, and had a simultaneous meltdown yesterday, each insisting that we the parents favor the other, and that the other child is a constant annoyance. Amidst much moaning and wailing and several gallons of spilled tears, we calmed and reassured, and may or may not have restored peace in the kingdom.
